What does your website say about your business?

We’re not trying to speak in metaphors or pose a rhetorical question… it’s important to know exactly what your website says about your business. Having a well-written, updated About Us and FAQ page helps build trust with your customers and creates a better user experience for them. Here’s a few tips to help you get started:

1. Include Your History

You can make your company feel personal and relatable by writing a short expose about your company’s history on an About Us page. Just remember, keep the overall tone focused on the customer. In other words, write about your company in a way that shows how you consistently put the customers’ needs first.

2. Talk About Your Community

An About Us page is also a great place to boost your local SEO by talking about the town and surrounding area in which your company in based. Include a few community activities that your business takes part in and link to news articles or local business websites (like the BBB) that mention your company. Linking to other credible websites will also help you achieve higher rankings on Google.

3. List Your Warranties and Policies

Like a good employee, a Frequently Asked Questions page can help explain your policies and help customers get in contact with the correct department. Listing this information in an accessible place on your website might even prevent unsatisfied customers from going straight to social media and posting negative comments and reviews (although nothing can ever completely stop this from happening).

Even though an About Us or FAQ page might not seem directly related to sales or conversions, these pages will help improve your SEO and provide a better user experience for your customers, which in turn leads to conversions as well as long-term brand loyalty. That’s why we include these pages in every custom website we build for our clients. Want to learn more? Check out our own FAQ page or contact us directly!
